Zoggster Privacy Policy

Zoggster (“we”, “us”) is a small app for sending short moments — ZoGGs — to the people in your squads. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
- Phone number. Your account is your phone number, verified by SMS code. It is used to sign you in and to match invitations sent to your number. It is not shown to other people.
- Profile. Your @handle, name, optional photo, optional “ZoGGPowers” and links you add. Your handle, name and photo are visible to other Zoggster accounts so they can find and recognise you.
- ZoGGs. The text, optional photo, optional voice note (up to 30 seconds, recorded only when you tap record), optional place (city/state, or exact location if you choose “Actual”) and time of each ZoGG you send. They are visible to the members of the squad you sent them to.
- Squads and invitations. Who is in which squad, invitations you send and receive, and people you block or report.
- Reactions. When you tap “I felt that” on a ZoGG, the person who sent it sees your handle.
- Phone numbers of people you invite by text. When you invite a friend who is not on Zoggster yet, we keep the number you typed for up to 30 days so their invitation is waiting when they sign up. We never contact that number ourselves; you send the text from your own phone.
- Website sign-ups. If you join the waitlist, ask to test the beta, or ask about workshops on zoggster.com, we keep your phone number, optional first name and choice so we can text you about it. We don’t share it or use it for anything else; email us to have it removed.
- Notifications. A push token (via OneSignal) so we can notify you about new ZoGGs and invitations. You control this in Settings.
- Counters and diagnostics. How many ZoGGs you have sent and received, your device’s time zone offset (so “today” is your today), and error logs without message contents.
How we use it
Only to run Zoggster: signing you in, delivering ZoGGs to your squads, notifying you, and moderating reported content. Zoggster has no in-app purchases today. We do not sell personal data, show ads, or use tracking for advertising.
Who can see what
- Squad members see the ZoGGs you send to that squad, your handle, name and photo.
- A squad owner reviews ZoGGs reported by members of their squad. They see the report reason and note, not who reported it beyond what the reporter chose to write.
- Reports about accounts go to the Zoggster team only.
- Service providers that process data for us: Google Firebase (hosting, database, authentication, storage — Google Cloud, United States), and OneSignal (push notifications). Each is bound by its own privacy terms.
Your choices
- Location: new accounts share only your city/state. Choose Actual, General area, or Off in Privacy settings, or per ZoGG. Sending works without location.
- Notifications: mute per squad or person, or turn them off in iOS Settings.
- Blocking and reporting: from any ZoGG or profile. Blocked people are not told.
- Delete your account: Settings → Delete account. This permanently removes your ZoGGs and photos, memberships, invitations, profile and sign-in. Squads you own pass to their longest-standing member. Reports about content you posted are kept, without your personal details, for safety.
Retention
Your data is kept while your account exists. Invitation phone numbers for non-users are deleted after 30 days or when the invitation is answered. Deleted ZoGGs and their photos are removed promptly; backups are retained for up to 30 days.
Children
Zoggster is not for children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect their data.
